The Lady Tigers managed to hang with the Todd County Falcons for a half but turnovers eventually led to their fall in the second. They fell to the Falcons, 70-47, Saturday night, Feb. 2 in Mobridge.
Todd County led in the early going but M-P tied the game up at, 4-4, and then opened up a, 10-4, lead when they took advantage of some Falcon turnovers. The Falcons returned the favor later in the quarter taking advantage of M-P turn overs to go up, 12-10. The lead see-sawed back and forth in the final minutes and M-P led, 16-15, at the quarter stop.
After an opening basket by M-P in the second quarter, the Tigers struggled with ball control. Todd County ran off 12 unanswered points and opened up a, 17-19, lead. The Tigers fought back with an eight to two run to trail by just five at mid quarter. Turnovers again bothered the Tigers in the closing minutes of the half but the Falcons also committed several. Todd County scored six and the Tigers four leaving the Tigers down just six at the half, 35-29.
Turnovers continued to plague the Tigers in the third quarter. After a couple early baskets, the Tigers got only one more in the quarter. The Falcons got only three buckets to fall in the first half of the quarter but they broke the game open in the second. They poured in 11 to go up, 51-35, at the break.
Todd County continued to pull away in the fourth quarter they out scored the Tigers 15 to two in the first four minutes. M-P did score eight late leaving them down, 70-47, at games end.
